A Virtual World Event
A Second Life on Rethinking Schooling
Friday 27 February, 6:00-8:00pm
Where: Second Life, JoKaydia
Usually when we explore the ways in which learning can be designed it often happens on paper, post-its or in online documents, or spreadsheets. This special SLANSW event with Hamish Curry from NoTosh will happen in the world of Second Life and experiment with the ways in which learning can be designed for alternate spaces. Such spaces present interesting and challenging environments for teachers and students to interact and create in. What can virtual learning spaces do that real school cannot? How might we design virtual learning spaces to complement but also contrast with what is offered in school?
Using some key processes and thinking tools, along with the materials available in Second Life, this event can begin to open up the opportunities to rethink the way school might work.
This online virtual event requires attendees to access to the world of Second Life, create an avatar, and come prepared to learn and share together.
