Building Influence in School Libraries Albury

LTA invites you to this dynamic event, which will be brimming over with inspirational ideas and strategies for creating a reading culture in your schools and libraries: Book clubs and literature festivals; literary lunches and breakfasts; parent literature events; pop-up libraries; ‘just-in-time’, not ‘justin-case’ collection development; teacher involvement as readers; reading challenges and electives as part of curriculum.


YOUR FACILITATORS WILL BE: Suzette Boyd [Author of The Connected Library] Rachel Kerr OUR AUDIENCE WILL BE: K-12 teachers and librarians THE AIMS OF THE DAY WILL BE: - To encourage you to refect on your current reading programs and promotional strategies - To inspire you to get to know your readers and non-readers - To urge you to review your current collection and selection process - To assist you to develop a range of fun and effective reading programs and strategies YOU WILL RETURN TO YOUR LIBRARIES FILLED WITH A ‘CAN-DO’ APPROACH FOR: - Engaging with non-readers - Taking risks in delivering innovative ideas and programs - Becoming the go-to expert on reading - Collaborating with other departments - Enlisting the support of parents
